Rv dryer

Which is preferred. Vented or ventless?

My sense of logic: RVs tend to be used mostly in warmer/high humidity weather. Hence, vent the dryer to the outside.

Our new, yet to be used 5th wheel has a washer/dryer. The dryer is vented to the outside.

The more research I do the better the vented is looking. I have been on several forums and some say the clothes don’t get completely dry with the ventless.

Most full-timers will not even consider a non-vented dryer. Also, the washer/dryer combos are very inefficient and do extremely small loads. Separate units with a vented dryer is the way to go. We opted to not even have a W/D in our current rig and have done fine for 2.5 years using campground laundry facilities and, only rarely, commercial laundromats. We get the laundry done MUCH faster that way and don't have to give up closet space and haul around the extra weight.

Vented. The devices are small and inefficient, but sometimes it is nice to keep your laundry in your tow-able home. If you don't need the space like we don't, having the capability to do laundry without hauling it somewhere is nice.

Vented by far! I thought you only had room for one appliance Dave? Or did you upgrade the RV to make room for both?

The flip side of this that we don't spend any time doing laundry. We load and start our Splendide vented combo and then go about our day either in or away from our trailer. Laundry is done when we get done doing other things. I dislike sitting in laundry rooms and absolutely hate getting other folks pet hair all over our laundry.

This is the sole reason we opted for the washer/dryer when we bought our trailer. We always figured we could take it out if we didn't like it, but we do like it and are grateful for it.

100% vented. I used to have ventless dryers in my apartments, and I took them all out to put vented/normal dryers in. No one wants to wait 3+ hours to dry clothes.

Excellent Dave! Once you have it, and have used it, I think you'll agree it was one of the best upgrades you made. Not that I am sexist, but my wife does the laundry, and would not agree to do trips longer than two weeks, due to the thought of having to go to the laundromat and sit there for hours. Now we head out to a local campground with f/h for 4-5 weeks at a time, and nothing could be more convenient. Sadly, I'm forced to commute to work most of that time....Cant wait for retirement.

You hit it on the head. Wife said same thing and what someone else said. Who know what was washed before. Cat messed blanket. Eww

Currently we are going on a 4 week trip. Wife dr says to get her in warmer weather. Zero doesn’t make it. She cannot go outside.
