Another 391 question

Hello everyone, I would like to know the advantages of the dual thermostat well on the later 391s. Is it worth it for me to try to adapt the dual thermostat setup on my older 391? Thanks

Do both thermostats just feed the radiator, and were they different temps so that it basically regulated the flow depending on temp?
