Tailgate not opening

Have a new 2017 truckand when the fob or just using button, the tailgate does not lower. It releases but does not lower unless given some encouragement. Thought it might Because of cold weather but don't think that is the cause. Think I've seen some other guys with this issue. What have others found out?

If you have a bed liner, it’s catching on it and you need to shave a little off the sides of the rubber bumpers.

Just spray in liner. It's catching somewhere on left side of latch. I put some wd40 etc. And no luck

Mine is spray in as well. The Ford dealer will do it for you, you actually need to shave a little off those bumpers with an razor.

Where do you shave it off? I'll look more closely tomorrow. Thanks

This idea. Just so it can release the tailgate.

Mine is sticking some too after getting my Line-X last week. Thanks for posting this.

Do you shave both sides of that rubber piece? I think it looks like it but thought I would ask to make sure.

No just the sides so they still have the spring to push out the tailgate. Both bumpers but just the sides. On mine at least.

Sorry, looks like a little off the bottom as well but maybe try just the sides first then the bottom if it needs it.

This happened to me. Had to take to dealership to replace actuator in the tailgate. Covered under warranty.
