So when I removed the valve cover today to replace the valve cover gasket and UVCH harnesses, I found this. So I guess this was my actual problem not the harness or turbo. Granted, my turbo blew the seals so it needed to be done but I was frightened at first when I popped that valve cover off and saw a rocker arm loosey goosey.

When it happened I had downshifted into 4th going up a slight hill and it just started smoking and running a little rough. Buzz test showed 3 out of 4 injectors failed on the passenger side where the bent rod came from so I assumed blown turbo seals because of the oil, and then running rough because of the UVCH harness. I am doing all of that anyways so that's good that I will have at least all that stuff replaced. But some guy I know who knows these trucks said that it's more common than you'd think on these trucks and just throw a new one in and you're good to go.so I will double check all the rest and for now, just throw one new one in and maybe start planning on upgrades in the near future. E fuel is first. But I just went under contract tonight on my first house purchase so I'm basically just trying to get it back on the road anx running for the next month.

A buzz test or contribution test? I had a contribution test show cylinders 6 and 5 or something off and i found anM&M shaped rocker ball bearing. I replaced it and no more cylinder faults.

WoW! Now your making me glad I did the smith brothers push rods and ARP head studs because sometimes I'm running close to the red line pushing it hard.

Yeah, I'm running stage 1's with DP tunes, and so it's probably only a matter of time before it happens again. So I'm going to throw a new one on for now, but probably start looking for some good aftermarket ones this year.

Also, does anybody have an idea on what I can do to take the EBPV out of the pedestal and plug it? In assuming on the one end I can just put that brass colored plug back in with the snap ring, but what do I put in that small hole where the stem sticks out?is there a small freeze plug I can put in there, or can I just shove a bolt in it with some locktite, and maybe have somebody weld it?

I’ve heard you can drill and tape the oil feed for it and plug it with a pipe plug 1/8” i believe so same size if you already drilled in an egr probe. I’d do that over a freeze plug. I haven’t had one apart to see which end but i know that’s whats you do. It’s aluminum so it should be easy to tap.

FML x9000 i dropped the new rod somewhere in rhe engine. It didn't stop when I let it go. What is the best plan of attack to try and find it? We can't see it looking down in the hole. I don't think it's in the pan.

Uh maybe if you’re super lucky you can remove the oil dipstick mount and try to reach in that way. You’ll probably drop that though.
