Wobble Probz
Wobble Probz
So there seems to be alot of talk going around about different issues related to this subject....
Here's my experience,
I live in central Louisiana, where a winter here is 75 and humid. But this past week was a record cold for the books. Mon-Thurs I did my normal routine, got dressed, cranked my truck to let it warm up 10-15 minutes before work, then headed out the door. On Friday, however, had a slight emergency to tend to so I cranked the truck and immediately pulled out the drive way. Made it about a mile down then road and noticed my steering wheel wobbling like crazy for the next couple of miles. At this point my speed had only reached up to about 55-60. Of course it would ease up as I let off the gas. The truck was not out of control. I thought this was strange for a 2017 F250 CCSB with only 16,000 miles.
My first initial thought was maybe I didn't allow enough time for the power steering fluid to completely warm up. (the hotter, the thinner). Because I noticed that the longer I drove the truck the more it went away. Since then I have noticed that the steering just feels different. Almost a looser feeling, I can't quite explain it. But after reading some information for the last day and a half, I dare say that it is related to "death wobble" as I don't believe what I experienced was as violent as some others have experienced.
Long story short, if I install a dual steering stabilizer and or new shocks would this problem relieve itself? From the information I have read I believe that it would. Asking for you guys' opinion if any of you have experienced anything like this.
also, my dealership's service department takes FOREVER to get an answer. I would like to solve this problem my self if possible.
TIA!

Likely flat spotted tires from sitting the night. New age tire belts are doing that again. Especially if you've lowered pressure to improve the ride. It's most noticeable in cold weather.
Any harmonics can effect death wobble.
