Wiper and Headlight issues
Here is the problem/issue I am having. Yesterday 01/04/18, driving into work had dew on the windshield and like anyone else turned wipers on then off to clear the moisture. As I was driving wiper blades continued to sweep the windshield intermittently. After checking the wiper control was off, wipers continued to sweep. So turned wiper controller on and off again just to make sure I was not having a idiot moment. Wipers stopped sweeping the remaining trip to work. That afternoon on the trip home as soon as vehicle was started the wipers again started to sweep intermittently. Again tried to turn on and off, this time there was no effect and continued to sweep. Tried a few times and still no effect. Only option at that point was to remove fuse to stop wipers. Once I got home started to check things out and noticed that the headlights were on even though the headlight switch is set to auto mode and it was a sunny day. I did double check switch and operates normal in off, driving, headlight on, and fog light, but in auto mode headlights stay on.
After doing a short google search, I disconnected batteries, touched positive to negative, and even turned on headlights (it was in one posting) and waited about 20 min. Reconnected everything and no change. I have a feeling there is more to it than that. I am 95% sure it is a computer issue and a good old reset will probably fix the problem. I had dealer reset computer once before because when using remote start things in the interior would not work correctly, e.i. auto seat adjust and bluetooth connection. Odd stuff to stop working by using remote start but that was their answer to the problem.
What is the proper procedure to reset computers or am I in left field and need to look that something else?
Any help is appreciated.

If not, I am thinking that your wiper controls and high beam (brights) are all on the same lever/switch to the left of the steering wheel. Perhaps this switch is faulty, or the wiring connection/plug is acting up. That is where I would start. while it is giving the issue try changing the tilt steering to different positions and see if it changes anything.
Beyond that, it could be computer related, but you pretty much have to have a dealer confirm at that point.
They’re easy to replace - few screws. Had to put a new one on my 2011 maybe three years ago. Was having the phantom wiper issues and the ww fluid wasn’t slways working
It seems that the sensor in the mirror controls both the automatic (on/off) light function and the automatic wiper function. Mechanic at Ford told me sensor in mirror has been known to act up from time to time. To reset hold finger over sensor opening for about 30-45 seconds and then shine a flashlight in sensor opening about 30-45 seconds. Watch mirror, once it automatically dims and returns to normal, sensor is reset and issue should go away. Tried and everything seems to be working normal again.
