Could this be a case of the EFI showing up in the wild before the 1988 m/y truck officially debut? A bit of picking around turned up no replacement EFI parts for the '87 7.5L motor, only carb parts.
Well, I guess I stand corrected. That is, until the first d00d comes along with an EFI '87 7.5L, asking about how to find parts for it . . .
