Got an 87’ F-350 dually. 2wd C6 auto with a 460. I need some advice on headers. I ordered a pair of the Hedman 89280 I believe it was, and they’re way off on the passengers side, even tho I called them and they said they’d fit. Anyway, I’d have to cut the frame way too much for them to fit, leaving me dead in the water right now as far as getting this thing back on the road.
After some research, I couldn’t find anyone with a similar truck say what they used for headers or anything.
Anyone have any input or advice? Any experience with headers on a truck like this? Not looking to spend any more $$$ simply going by what summit’s site says until I can hopefully get some feedback from you guys.
I’m open to any good brand as well, doesn’t have to be Hedman.
The only headers that I know work are the Banks torque Tubes PN 48803. Very spendy but you know, you buy them once, cry once, then enjoy headers that fit and don't leak.
Banks does NOT offer headers for a carburated 460 Only EFI
I am VERY pleased with my Headers from L&L but they are no longer nickel plating them, I suggest ceramacoating them
Well that was good information haha. http://www.landlproducts.com/details...=0&ItemID=1172Looks like these ones would work then? How was the clearance with your headers? Even if yours was EFI I’d assume the heads and everything sit the same. Thanks
No they are not the same. The intake and exhaust lorts are different between the carb. heads vs EFI. Very different.
I was referring to where the head sat in general, like in relation to the cab, the head height, etc, not the shape of the ports but my post wasn’t that clear. I’ll look into the L&L more and give them a call. And brokeasajoke, thanks for that confirmation.

Well, for some reason, Banks Engineering say they do offer the Torque Tubes headers for a 1987 F250/350, manual or auto trans. Link for their web page;
