boost numbers again
I was talking to a guy today with the same truck I have. He gets 20psi without using a chip and gets 32 psi with water meth mix, he also has a chip too but does not use both water and the chip at the same time. I get 15 max with the chip off and 20 max with the chip on. Any reason why this would be this way? he did have taller ties 2" taller than mine but I don't think that would build up that much more boost. It may be injectors or Hpop I guess. I don't know the age or condition of them. I was going to swap the injectors but now rebuilding the rear end and that cash is gone.
He also had this cool fuel powered block heater that is on a timer. it turns on every morning before he goes to work and warms up the cooling system. he said it uses about 3/10th of a gallon on cold days and 6/10 on very cold days. It runs about 45 min before he comes out to start the truck. it was really cool and useful for out here when out hunting and away from power in the winter. It's called webasto.

A stock tight 90cc injected 7.3 with no IC makes on average 16-20lbs when they come in, with and IC it will drop to 3-4lbs. This is at 6200 feet of elevation with a baro at 11.6.
My personal truck made 16-17 with an IC on 90s. A healthy stock AE injected SD makes 20-23lbs post IC, a fellow forum member just left the shop with the healthiest manifold pressure post IC i have ever seen at 25-26psi on AE at nearly 400k. AIS and billet wheel with an open exhaust with no chip.
I personally have ran water/meth for over 200k miles. I have never seen over a 25% gain, usually net 4-5 psi with water and that's it. Gain will be bigger at low pressure, as its linear and does not really change with manifold pressure. 20 without 24-25 with, 40 without 45 with. Never have I ever seen 12 psi on my setup or any other that left the shop, so unfortunately I'd call BS on that.
On a tight motor with no leaks your leaving a little on the table.

I have heard of those block heaters before....they are really neat but hard on your wallet. I can see them be a necessity though if you don't have access to power the electric block heater.
not sure about your boost numbers but 15 to 20 sounds fairly normal for a stock truck and stock injectors.

If you are going to run water I wouldn't suggest running it unless you tow a lot or are running bigger sticks and have EGT issues. The sole point of water is to cool, and to cool at hi manifold pressure, not at low pressure. I'd also suggest if you decide to run methanol in excess of 15-20% you better consider tuning for it as well. Water is a terrific tool, just not needed on a stock injected truck unless its chipped...

If you do not have any that are currently sticking in the cold I would not even consider injectors are to change your manifold pressure unless you go bigger. Worn out you may leave a little on the table, but plenum leaks, boots, up pipes, compressor housing leakes, worn turbo, are areas of concern well before considering stock replacement injectors to increase boost.

Espar also makes a similar heater. I have no personal experience with them but that's what a few of the local diesel shops are advertising on a regular basis. Just another option if you are considering a diesel fired heater. I have considered one myself but my wallet just won't allow it yet haha
