My son got me 2 new 9007 (HB5) LED headlight bulbs, and 2 9007 (HB16) inline resistor kits for my 2000 Expedition for Christmas, and for the life of us, we can't figure out why they keep cutting off and back on all by themselves. Hoping someone here can steer us in the right direction. So far, this is what's happening.
With new 9007 (HB5) LED bulbs installed directly to the factory wiring, they blink fast after about a minute or so, and never stop blinking.
With the inline HB16 resistor kits installed, and mounted to metal as per instructions, they will work for about 10 to 15 minutes and then shut off for a second or two, and then come back on for a minute or so and go back off for a second or two....and then repeat that scenario over and over.
Going to make an attempt to post pictures of the kits and bulbs in case that helps.
Those are the wrong ones for a 2000 Expedition. In 2000 the headlight wiring is not monitored so the resistors are unnecessary. These are the ones I installed in my 2001 Navigator and they never game me a problem. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-9007-H...19.m1438.l2649
I followed your link, input my expeditions info, and it said those were not compatible with mine. I then input your vehicle info and it also said yours wasn't compatible. Did they plug right up to the factory wiring on yours?
For LED lights, the best ones out there in terms of retaining the correct beam shape and all that is Philips Lumiled right now, though be careful as there are counterfeit ones for sale as well. I use Lumiled in my '05 Expy and I have the blinking issue as well. It doesn't blink "forever" though, it stops when all the modules go to sleep after about an hour. The VSM also sets a code for broken headlights. It doesn't really bother me though, so I haven't gone through the trouble with any resistors or anything like that.

You can't always trust the eBay compatibility charts. The listing says it's a 9007/HB5 lamp which is what both yours and mine use. You could always double check with the seller and ask the compatibility question.
