On the HPOP did you remove the “non-serviceable” plug? If so did you lose the ball?

Did you get it to start?

You should do several cycles of the key (waiting until the fuel pump shuts off) to fill the bowl and build fuel pressure before starting. It will take several tries to get it to start since your removed the HPOP and it will have to refill before it starts building pressure (your injectors won't fire until there's at least 500psi in the HPO system).

If you're still having problems I recommend posting in the 1999-2003 7.3L section. Lots of knowledgeable people to help get you running again.

I did not get it started I've cycled it several times with no change. I'm going to check pressure at the pump I feel it's not getting the pressure it needs for the injectors to work.

Do you have a scanner? Can you check the ICP and the IPR duty cycle? Did you check to see that the HPOP is full again? It should take a while of cranking to get the oil back through the HPOP and push all the air out of the injectors.

Did the temperature drop while your service was in progress?

I just went through cold start issues, and had a (really) bad glow plug relay.

Just thinking you might have tripped over another issue and your service is confusing recognizing a separate problem?

no I know relays are bad hence plugging in. Oil pressure issue. Truck ran fine before oil leak from pump. So I rebuilt it. An that's y I know it's pressure related.
