My wifes 01expedition won't start?its got 113000 on clock.no plug changes yet replaced 3coils in past 5years.it turns over fine has gas.where do I start?thanks all
Start by checking all fuses, and then do a fuel pressure test. Having gas isn't enough, you have to have the correct PSI or the fuel injectors won't work properly.
Ok cool.now do I need gauge on fuel pressure?or push little valve to see if it comes out.and no I haven't tryed starting fluid.now do you think the rain will do this?I doubt it but....thanks all
Wow, thats odd. My wife's 2000 expedition would not start this morning. Same exact symptoms, turns over but wont start. Has a new battery, coils replaced within last 2 years, I'm working on checking fuel and spark now will let you know what I find if it can help you. She did say it happened 1 time last week and she pushed the gas pedal down quick then tried to start it again and it started right up. Been fine until today.

Well I'm lost on this one.last night I ran down got couple gallons put in tank fired right up.later in night went to pick son up at work put another $10 in witch rose gauge to just under half and 105 miles.wife took off this morning drove 2 miles came out of tax office and no start.it finanly started couple hours later.it has been really rainy here last 4-5days whats odds of that causing this?thanks all
Well it was my fuel pump.and what a pain in the azz.just buttoned it up bout hour ago all is well no leaks(I hope).now I need to go fill it up.when all this happens the miles to go was right around 80-100.now its down to 24 so hopefully its once again accurate. Thanks all for the advice be safe tonight
glad it is fixed. I would only go 1/2 tank and make sure it is fixed before you have all that fuel to move in case of another issue in the tank.
I got an aftermarket pump, and had to do it twice because I did not get it right the first time.
glad it is running
Just wanted to follow up on my post. Mine was also a fuel pump. so I've spent $1000.00 this past year on fuel pumps, 1 for my Ranger and now 1 for my expedition. Seems to be a common issue. Glad you got yours fixed.
