Hey all, I was trying to start my 7.3 after it was parked for about 5 days in about 10 degree weather. It wouldn’t start. My block header doesn’t work either. I looked to see if the fuel filter was nice and gelly but she looked ok.
I had to jump it after the first couple tries. It just wouldn’t turn over. It would chooch lots of white smoke like usual on a cold day and it sounded like it was very close to turning over but it just won’t. What can I do? Very little experience with this sort of thing.
Try jumping the two big wires on the glow plug relay for 45 seconds or so then jump in and turn it over. Fuel shouldn't gel until it gets under zero. White smoke means its getting fuel so it sounds like the glow plugs are bad or the glow plug relay.
