It depends on the reason for the CEL. Try to get the codes and use the tech folder here to see what is wrong or post the codes here. Bumper to bumper warranty has expired but your engine warranty is fine, for example.

I had the same repair in January. Technically it began last November. I just cleared the CEL when necessary and left it in de-rate for daily driving.
P20BA - Reductant Heater A Control Performance
Pinpoint test RH1-RH2. Remove/replace reductant heater and sender assembly.
$840.82, parts, labor, shop supplies. Labor is half the cost.
I think the emissions warranty is 50,000 for our trucks, according to some MY2011 documentation.
