a tuned single exhaust system will flow well, its more preference than anything, there are some that will tell you duals will rob you of low end tork, but that only if you use pipes that are to large, if you put a big enough of a pipe on a single, it will scavenge your low end tork as well. Hope this helps. Good Luck DW

I would definately stick with a single mandrel bent 3" pipe. Running duals on a bronco is pure silliness. If you use the search function, you will probably understand what I am talking about. Are you merely upgrading the catback section, or the whole shebang?

What kind of sound are you looking at getting? I love my bassani cat back. Its loud when you get into it, but can pass as a 'sleeper' when sitting at idle and going around town. The cheapest alternative is to add a high flow muffler and a bigger tip, but I have always found that larger diameter tubing (3" specifically) has added quite a bit. Just my opinion.

you know everyone is entitled to there own preference and opinions, but to insult someones inteligence by saying (its pure sillines) to put duals on a bronco, makes you just a silly for saying so, shurly anything can be upgraded, but some of the worlds fastes production cars run a TRUE (tuned dual exhaust) systems, any unrestriction you do a exhaust system will improve performance to a point. but a single system on a (V) engine will never out flow a TRUE dual system thats tuned. If you are to run duals, plan on NEVER opening your rear window while you are driving. The exhaust fumes will surely overcome you due to exhaus location and vacuum pressure of the cab, and did I mention it is very bad for your health? I know at the stock location of the exhaust, I can still pull exhaust in. Yes, many high performance cars can run duals with good results. How many of them have a rear power window? Its nothing to due with the performance of it. Yes, you might get better performance out of duals, but riding in it might be another story. Thats all that I was saying.

Go to my gallery look under tech stuff there are pics of how mine is done. Now i cut and removed my old pipes and installed the muffler my self, and they run the tail pipes and welded on the tips. my whole system cost $225-250 total including the muffler,

Now look at mine, cause if you run them straight out the back, then you will get exhaust fumes in the cab if you open the back window, so if like to cruise with the back windo open then have the pipes turned out the sides behind the tires and you wont have any problems,
.I run mine straight out the back simply for personal preference, the only time i ride with my back window down is when i remove the top, so it dosent matter, other wise my windows are up and A/C is chillin. but any way take a look at mine and make your own choice. Good Luck. DW

Whew i gota stop this. DW

Thats cool and easy enough to do, they could have easily took my system and put a 45dgr bend in them and kicked them out the sides. Like i said theres nothing wrong with it either way, it nice to get ideas, and advice, but the best advice is do the way YOU want it. DW
P.S. thanks for the compliment

Well I got magnaflow today sounds great, went with single 2.5 exhaust 45 degree behind the tire tucked up tight so you cant see it hanging down behind the trucks bumper with a 304 stainless steel, 3 .5 resonated tip. Boss man told me they could put duals on but i would have to signe of being so close to the abs sensor and the fuel line.wanted duals but hey i can live with this. Nice deep tone!!! just like there web site best part is Boss man said bring truck back before inspection the will fix me up no charge!!!!

I had a bigblock 2 chamber flowmaster installed on my 5.8 Bronco, the muffler takes a 3 inch pipe from the cat converter, splits the sound into to two 2.5 inch pipes that are mandrel bent and turn behind both rear tires....and of course a nice stainless tip on each side.

great sound, mellow idle, screaming @ WOT

lost a little bit of throttle response but gained 1 mpg fuel mileage wise
the truck will climb hills much easier when cruising (before the exh upgrade it had trouble doing so)

Another good result was the engine bay temps went down quite a bit....due to the unrestricting of the exhaust flow.

to finish the exhaust in my ride off I will install the thermal barrier coated Bassani Y pipe effectively removing the stock resonator, this should make the truck a bit louder and throatier.

I like it.
