Fuel Separator leak?

Started getting getting a 2 second drip for about 5 minutes under my 99F250 7.3 just forward of center of the engine when I turn it off. Smells like diesel and feels like water. Thoughts and comments appreciated.

Since this is a diesel-specific question, I'm moving this to the 7.3L forum. You should get some better replies down there.

If you look at the back of your fuel bowl you'll see a yellow lever that is the drain, with a flashlight you can can see the drain tube. If you crawl under your truck near the passenger side of the front axle you'll see the 3/8 tube, that is the drain tube for that lever. That lever housing is a known place for leaks. You can buy the orings from Clay and simply replace them. Probably a good time to replace your fuel filter too if you haven't in a while. s

Get yourself this kit

Complete Fuel Bowl Seal Kit for Ford 7.3L (99-03) - GZ-7-003

Most likely you only need to replace the 4 bolts holding the black and yellow valve. This is easy to do and does not require removing the fuel bowl.
