Help to identify please.

I did a fuel bowl rebuild yesterday on a 2002 Excursion 7.3 4X4 and behind the bowl was this tube with a piece of hose attached to it that was not connected to anything??

What is it? Should it be connected to anything?

It's the drain tube to empty the fuel bowl.

Most of us connect a longer hose fed down further so when we drain the bowl, we can catch the fuel in a container easier.

Yup, plugs into the fuel drain on the back of the bowl. The nipple at the bottom.

You plugged it, or you connected it?

You don't want it plugged.

Do you replace the stock hose, or slip a larger ID hose over the top of the original?

In either case, what length & ID hose is preferable?
