Crew Cab Body bushing replacement

Crew Cab Body bushing replacement

Well I had to replace the radiator yesterday and the top nuts for the front body bushings are accessible when the radiator is out. So I went for it. I have ordered the standard Daystar kit a while back. The front two by the radiator were a huge pain to get the bolt out and to get the clamshell separated. Rest of the passenger side was cake. Drivers side position 1,2 and 4 went smooth. Position 3 on the other hand I hate. It’s basically right where the two doors come together in a crew cab. I work on that bushing for 2 Hours trying everything I could think of. Removed the bolt no problem. I had to give up and get the radiator back together. The top of the bushing is still intact so it will just have to ride that way for now. I am gonna have to order a new top and bottom piece and cut the old one out. Very frustrating for sure.

The advice I was given to hear each bolt with a torch for 1 min before trying to break them loose worked great.

Lesson to be learned prepare that this will take a lot longer then you would think.

Heat is a GREAT lubricant. when available . access can be a problem.

Anybody know if you can order the metal parts of the body mounts separate?

Just a small update. The bushings from Ford are ordered top metal with bushing and bottom with bushing. You cant just buy the metal pieces. So I paid $80 for both and gonna throw the new bushings in the trash.
