What transmission does it have? I'm not familiar enough with the F-150 to remember when it went from the 4R70 family (that doesn't need a heated machine) to the 6R80 trans (that does need one.)
In either case, this method will work great. It was written for a 5R110W, which is the trans used in the trucks here in the 6.4L diesel forum. It should work fine on your truck, too.
