TPMS... anyone know how it works? I’ve got the little garage door opener thing to “train” the system, but what if I want to run 50 psi instead of 70 or 80 (F-250).
I just had new tires and sensors installed yesterday and “trained” the system at 50 psi. All was good until tonight. I just got a “low tire pressure” warning and they’re all still at 50. I must’ve driven 30 miles between yesterday and today before I got the warning. Am I stuck with running 70-80 psi?
If you download the Forscan software from Forscan.org and purchase a obd cable EL327 compatible for about 20..00 you can disable the TPMS and do alot of other things on your 2012. Go to Forscan.org and read up . Software is free and you can do quite a few things with it. Here's a link to spreadsheet for your truck also. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...il&ts=5a3bd76a

Awesome! Thanks man. Will the Forscan mess with the tune I loaded from my Diablo tuner?
It won't affect that. All you will be doing is changing the coding in the BCM. Just remember to backup the as-built configuration before making any changes just in case you mess up or want to revert back to original configuration. Did I metion the Software is free !!

Yeah, I was just checking out the website. I need to look at it on a computer and not my phone... I can’t search as easy on my phone. I sent an email to their contact email address to see what I could do. Where can I get one of those cheap USB adapters?

So many cables to choose from, and it looks like most come with a cd to load the driver. You know of any that don’t require a cd? My PC laptop doesn’t have a cd drive.

This the one I used. I am running Windows 10 in Parallels on my Macbook(no cd) and didn't have to load drivers from CD. There are many to choose from but many are poor china knockoffs from original chipset that Forscan needs to work properly. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...s4yn9hu-arALz5
You don't have to completely disable TPMS. With the Ford IDD you can change to pressure the module sees as normal in programmable parameters. I believe your 2012 is included. Might not hurt to call your local dealer and ask. I do it quiet frequently as there are a lot of lifted trucks around here.

I called the local stealership and they said they won’t do it for insurance reasons. I was wrong earlier when I said 50 psi. I checked them tonight and they were at 60. I pumped them up to 75. I’ll drive it like that for a few days and if I don’t like it I’ll get the FORScan stuff and change it.
