What is this?

I'm doing a hutch mod and from my understanding I'm supposed to run the line from the tank to the pump but that would leave a line missing from the thing in the pic. Can I just block the extra line off on that thing or do a way with it completely? The two lines run into it and circle back around and head back towards the tank, don' know it's real purpose. Someone said it was a heater but I don't know.

Do you have dual fuel tanks? That look like a diverter valve to switch between tanks. I had one on my old Chevy and it looked just like that. That looped hose makes me think somebody bypassed something. Maybe it USED to have a 2nd tank?
Its is definitely NOT your fuel pump.

Do you have a switch in the cab or bed somewhere that you don't know what is does? Try tracing the wires, or put a meter on it to see if you have power. Good luck.

Thanks carguy3j that seems to be exactly what it is yet it deff doesn't have dual tanks now. Unless they had a tank in the bed or something at some point

There is a switch or 2 in the cab I still don't know the purpose of. Hope I didn't flip one of em shortly before the truck stalled and would not start again

I wonder if they had a veggy system in there, and this is a leftover. Whatever it is, it's disabled. I would follow that tube out of it to see where it goes, to know if you can remove it.

Do you have a spare tire? Ppl put excursion tanks instead of it. I'd love to do that for my truck.
