Noticed some coolant leaking on to the power steering cooler line. I've taken some pictures but I may have describe since I really can't tell where it's coming from and the pictures aren't the best. My question - is the pump attached to the front timing cover only? When looking at the pics from the bottom it seems like it connects to the engine therefore leaking around the pump seal. But when looking from engine bay i can see the separation between the pump and timing cover. Attachment 253050Attachment 253049
The drip is coming down below the red wire on one picture and the other you can see where it's wet behind the wire loom. Is it common that the seal fails?
So either freeze plug, water pump, or hose.... There's a freeze plug on the front of the head that could be bad or the hose on the front of the head could be leaking. Clean it up real good and see where the coolant is coming from
I had checked the hoses, so I don't feel it's related, but I review again. Didn't know a freeze plug could go bad. It's been cold here, but wouldn't feel like my coolant concentration would be off to freeze.
