Help with mounting Reese hitch adaptor into OEM puck system for 2017 F350

Anyone have any advice on getting the Reese OEM hutch adaptor set into the OEM puck system. I can get it dropped into the pucks correctly but none of the levers will turn in to lock into place. It seems like maybe the locking bolts need to be turned the lengthen the locks so they drop in low enough to get in and under the pucks. Hopefully that makes sense to someone who knows about this. Thanks in advance.

Was this hitch purchased at the time of the sale of your truck? They are suppose to set it up for you if so.

Otherwise you are on track with what you need to do. They should turn easy but not to where there is a lot of slack either.

I remember spending quite a bit of time adjusting. 2 would go, 2 would not. Back & forth several times until they were at the point senix mentions. Not too hard to lock on, but no slop either. It was not an enjoyable experience.
This is if you're speaking about the so called "window frame" type adapter.

You may need to loosen the nuts up a bit to get it to fit. That is what I needed to do. You will need to tighten them once it is in place.

I bought the Reese adapter and had to adjust the length of the bolts to get mine to lock in. It did exactly as you are describing on 2 of mine and so I just had to "dial it in" by extending the bolts. Works great now and no slop. Of course 6 months after I bought that I ended up switching my pin box over to the reese gooseneck box and no longer need the adapter.
