Bubba Rope

I had to pull a car home today and my strap finally popped the threads on me coming apart. So I am looking at upgrading to a Bubba Rope.

Problem is though I don't know what length to go with.

I want a rope that is long enough to be used both off road but short enough to be used on road for pulling vehicles as well.

Does anyone have any recommendations? I was looking at the 20ft one the shortest they have and I just don't think that is long enough for pulling a vehicle. I really don't think it is not long enough for off road recovery or pulling as well.

My recovery strap is either 20' or 25' (I don't recall). That's all I've used off road. Sometimes it would be nice to have longer, but in the woods, or on any tight trail it even seems kind of long at times.

I don't use a good recovery strap (or rope) for towing on the street. To much opportunity to damage it dragging it along the pavement, or even worse, driving over it. I have a 50' length of 1/2" nylon rope for that, and typically I double it up to 25' long for towing.

So I tend to prefer shorter, but that doesn't mean it's right for you.

Thanks for the reply. I don't know what length my old strap was. It was a strap ment for picking up 14 ton shafts it was a loop strap sewn together and one end of the loop came undone. I figure it was probably 10 feet or so. When looped around the bumper mount of the pulled vehicle and looped around my safety chain hook on my hitch before finally having the loop dropped over the hitch ball the car I pulled was kind of close. but for me I am trying to find something that isn't too long but can be used for both purposes.

For me if I have to pull a vehicle more than 2 to 3 miles I call a wrecker as I don't want to risk burning a transmission up. The pulling I did was not even a mile down the road from where the dist crapped out and I had to get it to the house.

I guess I am going to email Bubba Rope and ask them directly. Cause I don't have much room behind my seat as it is on my '82 F150 so I cant be keeping multiple styles of rope for different applications. I was hoping that this could be a one rope for all uses kind of thing.
