Splash Sheild behind Radiator Torn.
I had the Truck safety inspected, and it passed. The mechanic made note and
showed me the splash shield behind the radiator was torn, and should be repaired or replaced. Does anyone know what this part is or its purpose?

I repaired it, after figuring out two hoses would have to be removed to replace it. Bought a Sheet of 12" X 12" x 3/32" Reinforced Neoprene Rubber from McMaster Carr.. Cut an ample Patch to fit where the tab is. Glued it on the smooth side, "Up Side," of the Shield by doubling up on the contact cement, and reused the plastic rivet. I also had to glue it on the right side. I may put a patch on that side, however I can't put the patch on the smooth side.
