Instrument cluster swap?

Instrument cluster swap?
I have a '98 Ranger XLT 2WD and it has the instrument cluster with no tach and only the speedo and 4 minor gauges. Can I swap that out for a cluster that includes the tach? And if so what years/makes/models are compatible? Also are there any modifications involved with a modification like this.

Clusters from 1995 to 2003 are all direct swaps. The only difference is 1995 ones have the check engine light in a different spot. I have a 2003 cluster in my truck and it's a 1997. The harness is already prewired for the tach,,,,,, found this on a differnt site,,,,would like to have a tach in my 99

1996 3.0 Ranger, did a direct swap from 1996 Explorer...plug, and play , turn indicators in a different place, don't remember what, if anything else is different. FWIW you can swap the speedometer to keep the original mileage if needed. There is a procedure to keep the MPH needle in the right place, I'll look for info, don't remember where it was tho. Don't know if the link will work or pictures.
