I will have to double check when I get home....I know on the dash it has a spot the lights up for alt.

I went and got a new ignition switch.... going to install that as well as go over the grounds come Monday when I have a day off from work.

we thought that too but the fact of not having anything electrical, like lights etc we ruled it out, and its brand new(I know doesn't mean it cant be bad)

If have not already removed the switch let members know if not familiar with the process. Recently replaced the switch on the 65 and IMO installing can be a challenge.

yeah the switch is a pain.... have to take the key lock out, then push it forward really hard then turn the bezel to release it off the switch then pull back on the switch to get it out. we took it out last Monday but had to put it back in since no parts stores had one to replace it that day, probably should've left it out lol

Before you go to the trouble of changing that switch. Turn the headlights on. If they don't come on then you don't have any power coming to the switch and changing it won't solve your problem. Unless jerking around on the wires gets things connected again.

Carefully. They will be corroded. Use your favorite penetrating oil and spray the junction so as to get some to wick in the innards. Let it set overnight and soak some more. They just pull straight out. The idea being not to pull the pins out from the wire during removal. Then clean the pins and receptacles out with more solvent and a small wire brush till they are shiny and bright. To keep them corroding again use vaseline or NO-OX, something like that. You're on the right track and ya gotta do all this stuff anyway, so.

So they just pull straight out? No clip to pry?

Yep, give 'em a twist and pull, but don't get in a hurry about it. The pins may be welded to the sockets by corrosion. Let the penetrating oil do its job.

I use a heat gun to warm up the connections some to help the two rubber halves to separate from one another. A hair drier can work, too, just takes a little longer. Won't help with any internal corrosion, but it does help with the rubber connectors.

You don't have the type of dash panel that has those gauges so you don't have to worry about that.
Where is that black an yellow wire connected on your fender apron? You should have a junction block with the alternator wire and that blk/yel wire and a short jumper wire to the Bat side of your starter relay. Make sure you have a good connection there. I'm going to post a picture of my fender apron and I hope it doesn't confuse things. I have the oil an amp gauges so there is a harness on mine that you don't have. But imagine that Black/red wire going to that junction block instead of that circuit breaker. that is what your wiring should look like.

I will post up tonight what my fender looks like for you to take a look at.
