hello all, I’m in need of replacing my mufflers.
ive got dual exhaust with headers. The numbers on the existing mufflers are “CZ1 1680 4D”. I really liked the sound of them prior to me blowing them apart (long story).
I am thinking of going with Flowmaster part #42441. I want a deep rumble, not just loud.
390ci, Headers, dual exhaust, 2” exhaust pipe.
What are you guys running?
thanks

Reason: More info
Try to get a set of used late model Mustang mufflers. Sometimes the muffler shops have some that were removed and louder ones installed. They do not drone and sound great with headers. I have a pair on my 67 XL.
I have a camper special, so that spare tank underneath hinders me from running a dual exhaust. I could probably figure a way, but, just not worth it to me to have dual exhaust. I'm running a std exhaust manifolds with a single Brockman Mellowtone glass pack that dumps out right in front of the passenger side back tire. 3" inlet/2.5" outlet. Got a nice rumble, but, not over the top.
I was always curious how the factory set up was 3" inlet/2" outlet. Seemed very small, but, I assume done for torque reasons.
