short headers ( easier on 4x4)dual in out cat convertor ( Make the inspection station happy) Duals with your choice of mufflers ( or lack there of.) Actually in PA just about limited to cat back systems (w/shorty headers) they no like none stock type cats.Good luck
i hung duals on my 96 f150 [5.0], 2.25 inch duals off the manifolds, no cats, i used a set of cherrybomb super turbo mufflers, hung a set of tailpipes out the back with 3.5 inch chrome tips.
I jsut got rid of everything behind the first cat and straight piped back to the axle then split it to duals comming otu the back.....no mufflers or anything jstu straight from the 1st cat back in 2.5" pipe. cost me $200 to get it done. sound mean and loud behind the truck but still quiet inside. i'm going to record some videos of it for soemone else i can send to you as well if you want to hear it.
Dump-out after the cat sounds great and you can make it quiet whenever you want. Which is a good thing when you get home really late or when tryn' to pick a girl up. No father likes his little girl to be ridin around in some HOSS of a truck.
This is the set up i would suggest. Go with true duals. about 2.5 inch. Right after the headers get cutouts. Perferebly electric. Than run either cherrybombs, flowmasters, or cats, or nothing but straight pipe all the way back. This way you can have a mean sound with a good tone. then for loud as hell just hit the switch and dump the exhaust out the cout outs.
Ive got true duals (2.5 inche) coming straight form the manifolds (soon to be headers), and then i cut the cats out, and i hung a pair of Glasspacks on the way back. It has a beautiful rumble at idle, until you hit 2500 Rpm, then she crackles. Great for avoiding cops, but when you wanna show up your buddy's exhaust system, all you gotta do is tromp on her.

This is one of my friend's dad did i also recommend doing it its pretty awesome on his truck it was loud enough then he hit the switch and the cab just shakes up and down its loud as hell
I really wana do my exhaust to i really dont know what to do im thinking just cutting it off until the cat or cut the cat off to and run straight pipe but dont want to get pulled over by the cops sooner or later im going to put duals on er with flowmasters/magnaflow cherrybombs or just straight pipe im stuck in a rut

well i recorded a few and here they are. the first is a cold startup and i think it confused the microphone on the camera at first. cuz it starts real loud then go super quiet then straightens out. after i walk around the truck it idles down right when i get to the back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIDWgL71nYU
the second video is of me revving it up a few times. it's amazing how it sounds outside and inside while driving you can carry on a conversation and hardly hear it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCSPbmKlxvg
and while I was at it i made one of my car. it is a 99 Camaro SS Convertible Hugger orange w/white top and white leather and white racing stripes....1 of 18. it has flowmaster catback and gutted cats.
