I recently bought a f100. I love the truck but I am a little confused and need your help. Everything I have read says 1966 but the title which matches the door plate says 1965. Here is what the door tag has
F10YK859207
129 WM F100 B81 C 17
05000. 172. 4000 521429
Any help appreciated. Thanks Devin
52 = Des Moines IA Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.
1429 = Domestic Special Order number, truck ordered special by the original purchaser, not "bought off the lot."
1965's used a different VIN engine code for the 352 (D), a different trans code for the 3 speed type 3.03 manual (A) and a different axle code for the 9" 3.25-1 (07).
Thanks bill. I had everything right. The year had me confused. I am not sure how to fix it. I personally dont care 65 or 66 just want it right before I sink alot of money in it
What is the # stamped on the chassis? As long as the #s match the title, might be more hassle than it's worth trying to correct the year- depending on where you live.
