1966 F100 VIN and door tag question
I recently purchased a 1966 F100. I was going through the door tag and I had a couple questions.
VIN#- F10YR886406
So it's an F100, 352 engine, built in San Jose in July 1966.
Now this is where the questions arise.
Door tag-- 129 W F100 281 A 08
05000 172 4000 74
I get the wheelbase, model and the bottom line but what doesn't add up is the 281 body style and the transmission. I couldn't find a 281 body code. And According to the decoder I found the A is only for 1965 but for '65 there is no Y engine code.
Anyone able to shed some light on this?
