Any one else notice you don't get the tail gate aplaque with the crome package any more? Between that and the orange seats I'm glad I got a 17. Although it looks like you can now get platinum white with out the carabu now and in 17 you could not.

The orange leather almost certainly costs more. They have wrapped the orange "KR" inserts around to the sides of the headrests which was not there before. This is another added cost feature.

I'm not sure about the tailgate applique, but aside from a likely more expensive two-tone leather design and a more expensive headrest treatment...the rest of the interior is the same.

Good. I think those appliques that cover the entire width of the tailgates are a bit much. Certainly too much flash for me. And the new leather, that's the new "no-go".

I'm sure they dropped it due to the fact that now the Limited has it. No need to have 3 model trims sporting it now. Make the other two more unique.

Nah,...using less dye to color the dark coffee brown with the headrests. Orange is they new black. Now about the headrests... been doing it in the f150 as well.....maybe cuts down on labor to have them done for one truck instead of two different trucks.

I really don’t know...but I do know this from my Lariat Ultimate to my KR...on the Lariat I could tell where the leather ended but on the KR...I cannot.

Man you guys are rough... good thing I’m not easily offended. I have a RR KR on order getting built next week and I like the tailgate appliqué. I think there is a glitch in the build and price site. The discription for the chrome package still indicates all the same chrome accessories as the 17’s including the appliqué but doesn’t update the picture when you add it like it did on the 17’s. As for the seats I would have preferred the Java from last year but I think the Kingsville only looks orange in certain light. The picture on the website is much darker. I ordered the KR because it had the features I wanted and I don’t like the grill, bumpers and interior of the Platinums.

You did great,..I agree on the flash making the color look like a Halloween pumpkin. I am actually a fall kind of person so it would fit,....please post pics as soon as she arrives.

Congrats.

You can still get the tailgate applique on the 18 KR. I actually really like the leather on the headrest, adds a nice extra touch. However, still dont like the color all that much.

I ordered the '18 KR instead of the Platinum and Limited for six reasons: I like the looks of the solid two bar grill over the others, I specifically did not want the big silver plastic applique on the back on the tailgate (I think it only comes with the chrome package on the KR which I did not want), I needed stock 18 inch wheels so the truck would fit in my garage, I wanted all season tires stock instead of all terrain, I love the two tone paint job offerings, and I loved the brown Mesa leather. Then to my surprise, Ford shifted to this "Burnt Umbra" color Kingsville leather. I almost cancelled my order, but I went and sat in a F-150 KR and the leather wasn't too nauseating... I can get used to it...

For some of us, the the KR seats feel a lot more comfortable than the Platinum seats. That's what swayed us to get another KR in 2017. The seat seams are in different places. I highly recommend you see the KR seats in person and sit in them before deciding on another trim.

Now that you can get the Lariat without the sunroof, I plan to go that route. Not paying an extra few thousand for orange seats. Also want Platinum White with Stone Gray two tone. Cant get that combo on the KR either. I did like the 2017 KY but also wish they kept the chrome back plate....would have looked nice with my Airstream hooked up.

The leather is not naturally the orange color, either...so the dye usage would be the same...except now they need a lot of two different colors.

The 2017 Super Duty KR seats are identical to the 2015-2017 F-150 seats. I also noticed the 2018 150 and Super Duty KR interiors are the same as well. Economies of scale is definitely good for Ford. That's one of the big reasons Ford chose to share the F-150 cab with the Super Duty for 2017.

I agree on the leather...there is more *real* leather in the KR seats than in the Lariat seats.

Not sure if you noticed, but the prices also went down slightly. At least they did for my F450 KR build. Only by about $300. I'm wondering if that's due to the missing tailgate piece.

EDIT: Nevermind. Just built it again and it's about $1100 more.

The tailgate appliqué is still included with the chrome package. The build and price tool has a glitch when you pick the chrome package it doesn’t update the picture like it used to do on the 17 B&P
