On the timing chain cover behind the belt tensioner is this round metal plug about 3 inches in diameter and it has a stream of oil coming from it. I went to the local Ford dealer and they have no idea what it is or how to fix it. Anyone know what it is, or a part number, or a good way to seal it?
First, you might do well to say what engine it is (or put this info in a footer for the posts you make), and then make this post in the sub-forum devoted to that engine family.
The leak is not specific to a van and although we have a lot of mechanical people here, you're gonna get more views in a forum devoted to engines.
Best of luck with an answer. Sounds like you need a new dealer,
George
on first glance that looks like the belt tensinor has been rubbing against the timing cover. can you take a pic of how the belt tensioner mounts in that location?
If so then it would require a new timing cover and belt tensioner

the JB weld seems to have done the trick. I did replace the tensioner as an assembly and spaced it out by using one washer behind each of the 3 bolts. Thanks for all the help
