I tried the relay flasher vs the OEM bi-metal flasher and all combinations of parts and it doesn't work in our 2002 Excursion.
I measured voltages at the two vehicle relays and the wiring is different.
If I remember correctly the electronic relay flasher chattered when off.

The electronic relay flasher worked fine in our 2003 Expedition.
