so I scored an original see clear windshield washer and most of the parts (I think I was missing one). The foot pedal on the pump was missing but I sourced that and it's on the way. The directions seem to indicate that there might be a spring under the foot pedal, between the firewall and the pedal. If anyone has this option can you check that and post a picture of it?
Yes Abe I have the nozzle. It's a strange bird as it is a chrome piece with a clamped end that attaches over the windshield seal and the other side extends into the cowl through a drilled hole. Will take pictures tonight.
Yeh I don't have that spring, anyway you can take some measurements of length and OD of both ends if it's conical?

I will try to measure that spring tonight. Did you get this on eBay? Is it NOS? It looks great.
Your bottle holder looks different than mine. I bought the decal and I had to trim it as it was too wide. It was advertised for 48 to 52. Now I see why mine didn't fit. Your center bar is wider. Is that spherical thing the diaphragm? Mine is different. I've got copies of the 53 to 56 instalation directions .
Here is the location of my nozzle. Yours must be different than the 53 to 56 nozzle.
Yes on eBay. I think the pump changed in 52 to what you have. Surprisingly it had everything except the spring and pump pedal and I don't think I have the fluid strainer, but I see mid-fifty has that.
Here is the nozzle installed on my '49 F4. The nozzles on each side are ball shaped and adjustable. I'm going to use a washer bag from a '66 Ford car and an electric pump.

thats it Mark. Do you have yours in the very center of the windshield? How does your foot pedal look? Does it have the spring also?

BA-17664-A .. Foot Activated Windshield Washer Pump (BA [1952 Ford car prefix] is obviously a replaced part number) / Obsolete
1948/53 Ford Passenger Cars; 1948/55 Trucks.
NOS PARTS LTD in Waxahachie TX has 1 = 972-937-2201.
OBSOLETE RELIABLE PARTS in Nashville GA has 1 = 229-686-5101.
JB, Yes the nozzle is centered in the windshield. I only have the nozzle, I didn't buy the rest of the kit. I bought the nozzle NOS from McDonald Obsolete Parts. I saw a complete kit for sale on ebay a couple of years ago and the seller had a very clear photo of the installation instruction sheet. It showed exactly where to drill for the nozzle. It also gave the part number for the nozzle, so I called around until I found one.

JB, I measured the spring on the foot pump. It is conical in shape with the wide end nearest the firewall. It is 1 3/8" long and about 1/2" wide at it's widest going down to about 1/4". It is not a real heavy gauge wire.
I think you should be concerned most about the length of the spring. For the width just make sure the narrow part fits nicely behind the foot pedal and the wide part is not wider than the base of the pedal. The important thing is for the spring to push the pedal out again after you pushed it in. If yours is like mine it will take several pushes to get the fluid out.

Thank you Abe, I found one at Ace that will work. JB
