I have been having this issue for about two weeks. my rig will take a long time to get my truck started. but I just found that if I pump it a few times wile plugs are on if starts right up. ?????? or if wile im cranking it over I feather it a little fires right up...
seems like a fuel pump issue? plugs? I just don't know where to start as I have only had this truck for about 5 months...
I have never heard that applying fuel pedal would make any difference with a diesel. I would suspect your glow plug relay (GPR) or the glow plugs. You can try jumping the relay with a screw driver for about a minute and see if it starts and you can ohm out your glow plugs through the under the valve cover harness (UVCH), it has an connector on each side. The two outer pins on each harness are your glow plugs.

How old is your oil? 15-40 dino oil, or 5-40 full synthetic?
I figured out the problem thank you guys so much for the help I had one bad battery. I never thought that would make it crank for a longer time before firing but part of the learning process.

I would suggest replacing BOTH batteries at the same time. At the very least have your "good" battery load tested individually. The bad battery could have very well killed the good battery, which in turn will eventually kill the battery you just bought new. This will lead to you chasing your tail on batteries.

If you buy one of the volt meters that plugs into the cigarette plug, you can see if your voltage drops below about 10.5v while cranking. If it does, the injectors may not fire- although the truck will allow you to crank until the batteries are stone dead with no hope at all of starting.
An important thing to know and watch for
Glad you found your problem!
Yes, replace both batteries at once and have your alternator tested.
