EOT and fuel rail temp issue

Hi guys hoping to get some help here. Last week I purchased a 2008 f450 4 speed auto with 130,000 miles on it in Australia to tow a 5th wheeler. There is not many of these trucks over here so my info on them is limited. The truck has exhaust dpf delete and a Spartan 210hp tune on it. From looking at forums I see I may have an issue with it as my engine oil temp is too high. My EOT starts off the same as the ECT but EOT quickly rises if I sit on 65 mph for more than 10-15 minutes the truck is unloaded but the EOT rises to between 230-246 at 246 I have backed off to 50mph and temps come down to 220ish or if i pull over and idle it will drop back to 200 around town going slow it’s 215. My next plan is to keep it at 65mph and see if it climbs much more than 246F but being as it’s unloaded I don’t really see much good news even if it stabilizes at 246 with a load it’s going to go much higher and what other peoples trucks temps run at I know I need to sort this ASAP. I’m reading the temps through the dashdq xl my ECT is perfect always between 188-195 weather here is around 80F. I have noticed the heater does not work and the fuel rail temp is also running high between 140-155. 2 deisel mechanics over here didn’t seem to think I have an issue. Does anyone have any ideas where to start?

I believe you need your oil cooler replaced. It sits in the valley of the motor.

You could try a flush and cleaning of the coolant system to see if that does it, but doubtful.

Remember only the ford gold coolant goes in there if it is a 6.4.

Yes I thought more than likely it’s the oil cooler but as I’ve read replacing it is 1500-2000 in America I imagine it would be more over here plus iv yet to find a mechanic who has worked on these motors before. I was hoping too replace it after looking at other possibilities.

Is there any point in changing the coolant if my temps are perfect? Also i would assume it would not have a ford coolant in it now

yes it’s a 6.4

not so much of the changing of the coolant. It is the cleaning with distilled water than may, just may, help to clean the coolant passages in the oil cooler.

The coolant /oil cooler could also fail on the oil cooler side. Either side could get clogged .

I have deen seen more than 1 YouTube video on back flushing the unit, but it has to be removed to do so.

Aha flushing the coolant should not be a big job labour wise like getting to the oil cooler right?

Ok thanks I usually change all fluids whenever I get a new car so that will be one thing I’ll try.

generally these 6.4 Motors unloaded should be about 200f when cruising at 65mph right?
