Engine Oil Cooler Issues...again

Recently I changed my 2006 6.0 oil cooler at 144k due to a large variance between coolant temp, and engine oil temp. Prior to doing that, I did a coolant flush, and added coolant filter. Well Only 6k miles later, I started having the same issue and replaced the thermostat and also did a reverse coolant flush to try and clean out the oil cooler, and another full coolant flush as well as replace the coolant filter again. I am now once again getting those high oil temp numbers over the coolant temp. Yesterday pulling my tractor I had 200ish engine coolant, and 238 engine oil temp. Is there somewhere else I should be looking. I was told the an external oil cooler would be a solution. Any help would be appreciated.

you said i am not getting high oil temps. did you mean i am now getting high oil temps?

check the delta after a cold soak to rule out any sensor bias.

let the truck sit for about 12 hours. the EOT and ECT at that point should not be more than 1 or 2 degrees different, if any.

Yeah, that's the case. When I let it sit at idle, oil temp will will get within 5-8 degrees of coolant temp

Does the EOT and ECT match up before you start it after the cold soak?

What about BulletProof External oil cooler? They have one that eliminates the factory filter as well, and I heard the plastic parts in those can break too.

how much is pretty close?
just think an 8 degree bias can make a 15 degree a delta a cool 7 degrees.

He is looking at a 38 degree difference.

Looks like it is time for an oil cooler again.

It is usually about the same when I start up. Will need to verify when I go home as I drove one of my Broncos today. When not towing, the difference is usually gets to about 10 degrees between the two. When towing heavy, and not even pushing it 45-55 mph, it can be greater than 40 degree difference, and eventually will throw the wrench at me and the code. Comes down pretty quick at idle though

Is there anything else that can cause this that I can search for?

Is your cooling fan working normally?
Radiator isn't blocked?

It sounds like the BPD system might be a good idea in your case. I've never been a big fan of that system as the factory one typically works just fine provided the cooling system is clean. Plugging up an oil cooler in 6k miles is definitely not a good thing.

Are you doing the work yourself?

If it were my truck, I would probably flush the cooling system again and then put another OEM oil cooler in it. That BPD set up is quite spendy.
