Yeah, I agree with the others, I think you'd probably be better starting with the grey body and frame. Seems like the black frame is too hacked. I am studying the pic of the black one and I wonder if it is a 56 cowl. I don't see the wiper motor mount. this was how my truck was when I got it. (56 windshield/roof /doors on a 55 cowl.) You may want to keep any of the defrost ducts, heater parts if you junk the black one. (One year only parts)
Hey guys, been a while since I posted. Thought I'd post an update and see about getting some help from you guys. I've decided to go another route with my project. End goal is a 56 with a 4"-6" lift in 4x4 with 35" tires.
I've acquired another 56 for a price I couldn't pass. Also got it because it is sitting on a 80's F150 frame. Figured that frame would like the 460 better. I'm going to harvest the motor/tranny from the black frame and then sell the rest. Couple of questions.
1. I have a 72" 460 from a Lincoln. Anyone know of which timing chain set and mild cam goes in this motor to help wake it up? Please post the links to it if you can.
2. What is it going to take to put a transfer case up to my C6?
3. Best lift kit for 80s F150? Links for that would be appreciated as well.
Now I know this question has been beat to death, just curious what people still think. Best gear ratio for this combo and tires; 3:89 or 4:10s. It's a daily driver. Some days I feel like Ricky Bobby, but others I realize I need to pay some bills and can't afford 8MPG lol.
