Picked up my first 56 project

Picked up my first early Ford truck. I've been holding out for a 56 and ran across one yesterday. No motor or tranny and it has a volare front clip and a chrysler rear end. The only rot I see so far is the rear cab corners, lower cowl and some areas of the floor. The bed is probably 50/50. Fenders are in great shape.

The plan is a nice driver, as traditional as I can keep it, with a 351, 302 or possibly a 429, and a C4 or C6. I kind of wish it had the stock frame intact (and may swap it out for one).

Anyone with ideas on a known motor/tranny setup that will work out with the volare front clip, please share. I've been reading up on the difficulties with the volare steering box.

Thanks
Phil

Great looking truck. I have a Volare front end in mine. I'm running the 4.6L engine and AOD out of a Lincoln Town Car. 1998 Ford Explorer Sport 8.8 rear differential.
