I reckon I drove to long on bad injectors and washed the rings on a cylinder or two.
the truck was making a cloud of smoke when I stopped. I finally bought a set of unlimited 160/stock injectors. I installed them hoping it would fix the problem (more wishful thinking). well it didn't. the blowby would lift the oil cap off the filler neck. so it was time to get the spare motor out.
me and my step dad swapped the motors out and all of my parts from one motor to the other. when it started it sounded better than the old motor with just over 350k. it has very little blowby. I went on a test drive and at 30 miles it died on me. my step dad towed it home for me. i checked the icp and ipr with the torque pro app. when cranking the ipr went to 96.6%. so i pulled the ipr from my old motor and installed. the truck starts up better than it has since ive owned it. cruising at 70mph icp is 1780, ipr 19.8. the truck runs good but still smokes.
the spare motor has been sitting in my dads shop for a good 3 years.
i figured the smoke would clear up after some driving. the second test drive was back home to AL. a little over 300 miles. the truck did good. no problems. but when i got home its still smoking.
i have a wide band im going to check the A/F ratio but i dont know what the ratio should be. can somebody give me some numbers for that??
Can't give you numbers but have you tried disconnecting the MAT sensor? Way down on the spider.
I have not. I' trying to remember what' on the spider. I remember the plug at the top and the hose to the map sensor. I guess I'm forgetting something?

I can't find the thread, but I stumbled on it years ago. I've had this saved in eBay since then...
Delphi ts100098
I forgot about that sensor. I unplugged it. But is 34° today so it' going to have some smoke/ steam. Bit I'll go for a ride in a little bit to see if it helped
I just used a infrared thermometer on the manifolds. #1 275 #3 295 #5 315 #7 315
#2 160 #4 130 #6 230 and I'm not laying on the cold wet ground to get #8
the injectors have less than 1500 miles on them.
Cylinder contribution test says
p0263 cylinder 1 injector circuit contribution/ balance fault
p0294 cylinder 8 injector circuit contribution/ balance fault
the rest of the codes were 2 for the IAT and the p01211
looks like I Need 2 injectors again....
