I'm trying to replace the cruise control switch on my master cylinder on my 2008 f350 diesel. I'm not if my truck fell off the moon but I seem to have an incredibly difficult time finding diagram, videos or information about my truck. Just want to make sure what I'm doing before I do it. These trucks don't seem THAT rare why so little info????
All help appreciated
Did you check recalls to see if it was on there? There were a LOT of years that had recalled brake switches for the cruise control for leaking and causing fires. Not sure if the 08 was one of them, but my 99 was and I just had the recall done last month.
Mine had the recal. They just installed a wire that had a fuse in it......then the recal failed and they said the fuse wasn’t serviceable, that was not true. I removed the wire and went back to normal. As I recall i seen a YouTube video on it...

best of luck
how did it fail? It is designed to cause an open circuit if it gets wet. The reason for the recall was a potential leak in the sensor that would cause a short in the factory wire and potentially start a fire. If the sensor was leaking and caused your fused harness to open, removing it would make the system work, but wouldn't eliminate your problem (leaking sensor) was your sensor dry when you changed it?
The recall (05S28), which was issued in 2005, obviously does not extend to models produced in later years.
The recall only applied to vehicles that were produced with a specific manufacturer's switch that was used and mounted onto the brake master cylinder and which were not adequately protected against a fluid-induced short circuit.

mine was an issue under the hood.....for some reason it would get soaked in brake fluid.....the recal was done b4 i owned the truck but the cc stoped working. I checked into it went to my local auto parts store “ a REAL Auto parts store” the guys told me rip it out and you will be fine....this is what I did. And there was NO fluid leak....never had another problem...
now....how was it leaking i dont know. Why I dont know....but it never did make sense to me. So I didn’t take time to figure it out......
