Alarm ? Triggered by old battery ? Strong Winds ? Other ?
I've owned my 2012 Lariat 5.0 SCREW for about 2.5 years. It sits outside.
Its totally stock. (Well OK, it has a bedliner and topper.) Its got 71K miles on it.
Today, as I lay in bed sick, the alarm went off 4-5 times in the course of a couple hours. Each time, after about 45 seconds, it turned itself off.
We've had some strong wind gusts today (but not what I would consider 'record=breaking'), so wondering if that could be triggering it ? Never noticed that before.
I'm pretty sure its got the original battery ......... some Google searching indicated that could be the cause of the alarm triggering - low voltage.
Any thoughts ?
Thanks.

Here is some additional information that might affect the diagnosis .....
We got some freezing rain last night (ie the night before the alarm sounded), which made the doors difficult to open in the morning. I drove my wife to work in the morning in the truck due to the weather (before the alarm sounded), and later in the day, I noticed the rear passenger door (which she had used) was not closed securely.
I'm wondering if the door not being fully 'shut' may have affected the alarm ?
Also, checking the battery, the status indicator is 'green' - can those things be trusted ?

I did check the date code on the Motorcraft battery and see its from March 2012, so will replace it this weekend.
Also, feeling much better - I had a nasty battle with food poisoning.
