Just a Heads Up

I have 34,000 miles on the clock. Going to the races this past weekend and I heard a loud pop. You guessed it, the cold side pipe to the turbo blew. The pipe came apart in the middle where the ring is pressed on the plastic tube. The truck is still under factory warranty. But I'm in the middle of nowhere. I wasn't to worried, I did make it to the track and Knew my buddies would show up later.
So on Saturday my buddy toke me to the shop to get a new tube, for $146. I wonder if I can get the money back since the truck is still under warranty?
I whole time I'm going through this ordeal I'm thinking I wish I would have put the brand new AFE pipe I have at the house in my truck. LOL

The moral to the story is, GET that heavy duty tube installed NOW!

You could contact you local Ford Service department and ask them. They might write up a ticket and get your money back.

BTW, you do have Ford towing assistance for 5 years when you buy the truck new (not sure about used). You could have called Ford Assistance number and had your truck towed to the dealer for the repair.

Yikes only 34k? What year is your truck, and were you towing when it popped?

I was towing a small 14' enclosed trailer when the tube blew.
Rodney, I remember your ordeal. Your story is one of several that convinced me to get the AFE tube. I shouldn't have procrastinated the install of said tube.

Tube separated.

Count me out. Towed in, can't look at it until Monday, or oops, can't replicate the problem. Just kidding. Remember the 6.4 days of hell? Life is so easy now.
