steering column question

I am working on a 51 F1, I have gathered a replacement column length should be 30". my question is this-
is it a 30" column PLUS an adapter (2 1/4") for a total length of 32"
OR is it a total of 30" so I need a 28" column plus the adapter to make 30"

I used a 30" column from Flaming River. I think that it comes with a D rod that you can cut to length. And you will need 2 universal joints, a floor mount and a 2" drop dash mount.

The D rod will only need to be cut long enough to join the two universal joints. The joints actually touch each other.

I would suggest calling them (800) 648-8022 just to make sure that you get the right parts. They were very helpful. I actually picked the parts up at their factory outside of Cleveland just off the Ohio Turnpike.

The U joints touch so you don't need a long D rod. I have a left over piece if the D rod doesn't come with the column. Send me a PM if you need it.
