Winterized diesel datapoint - Denver
As Denver's average low temps in December and January is in the teens, I figured that dealers would be pumping winterized diesel. But as I didn't know for sure, I added a dose of the white bottle additive to my last fill up anyway.
Just as I was pulling away from the pump at the local station, I noticed that a tanker had just pulled in. I walked over and asked the driver whether he was delivering winterized diesel; he said no, the only local stations which have it added at the rack are Conoco and Maverick. Definitely Shell does not (the local Shell stations all seem to pump an unbranded, non-Shell product).
My takeaway is: if you want to be sure the diesel you get is winterized, add it yourself. At least in areas where winters are relatively moderate...
