Pulled into a Shell station yesterday for diesel and right on the pump it said BIO Diesel Blend. I don't know what the percentage is but I suspect if it's posted it's pretty high.. Normally I don't fill up at Shell but too lazy to pull out. Any pros and cons to running a BIO Diesel Blend? I think I am smelling French Frys now when I start my truck!
I've heard that burning WVO in a diesel will make the exhaust smell like french fries. I don't think there are any long-term negative effects, but I'm subscribing in case somebody knows something I don't - I'd like to know, too.

BIO Diesel sold in the US is usually labelled B5-B20. Meaning that the BXX is the % of Bio Diesel to Standard Diesel. I have not heard any down sides other then the partially compromised state of it in very, very cold weather...
Being that there is no Cetane rating for com. sold diesel I dont see how it could be any worse per se. The standards for Bio Diesel are fairly strict so its not something Farmer Joe is makin' in his garage...
