I am wanting to install something similar to the Crossfire dual tire equalizers on my truck, but it seems to be kind of on the large size.
Has anybody done this sort of thing to their truck? What did you use?
21-1/2 years of having a dually as my daily driver - never saw the need for an equalizer. I just use a traditional dual-wheel gauge and check them both as needed.
When I fill the tires I use a home made equalizer.
I have a PowerTank.com pressure gauge with 'push to connect' (PTC) 1/4" connectors.
3 pieces of 1/4" hose, two right angle push on tire fill valves and a 1/4" Tee.
Use it for the truck and dual axle trailer tires when adjusting pressures.
I drive a semi for a living . Had the crossfires on my tractor. after about 6 months they started to leak. Pulled them all off and just checked my tire pressures manually same as KCJackson1

I fill with a Milton 553.

It allows a safer fill (though not as far away as the sticker on my F450 says to be). It is easy to lock on the stems and stand away to fill. The gauge is consistent as well.

They look like they could be a bit fussy, especially on smaller tires. The company claims a potential 20% tire life increase, which would be nice, but may not really be enough to cover the cost of the valves.
I'm more concerned about accelerated wear on the inside tires due to higher temperatures. Using the manual pressure gage is what I do now, but if the inside tires roll at a higher pressure due to higher temps, the only effective method to reduce or eliminate that difference that I can see is some kind of device similar to the Crossfires.
I'll keep looking, perhaps I will come across something purpose built for small truck tires rather than something adapted from tractor trailer tires.
I have a more novice question, how do you get the inside tire valve stem cap off? Mine are mounted with the inside valve stem in the same wheel opening as the outside valve stem, and I can't get my hand through to take the inside cap off!
It should come with a cap that you can fill through. If you reach through with your finger and feel the tip, it should feel like a spring loaded ball, or similar. Just press the chuck down over it.

I'm wearing my embarrassed face and dunce hat. Like a novice, I was trying to get the caps off. Thanks.
