That would work, but only keep the starter from engaging.
On some of my vehicles I have installed switches on the fuel inertia shut-off which will prevent fuel from being delivered, which I think is more fool-proof.
The other thing I've put switches on is the brake-shift interlock circuit so even with the engine running it can't be put in gear. Law enforcement vehicles frequently have them from what I've been told.
Summary:
- on the starter circuit, you only prevent starter from being engaged
- on the fuel circuit, you prevent fuel from being supplied to engine (if you're fast and have it in your pocket, you can stop a carjacker in their tracks)
- on the brake-shift interlock circuit, you can leave it running without fear of someone jumping in and taking off.
It could work depending on how you wire it and where you plan on wiring it.
It would be nice to see a link to this unit because there is nothing that indicates this is what the unit does or if it is just like a blank remote system that could be adapted to work as a kill switch
to read up more on it and what functions it exactly does and how it does it. Right now we are seeing from the picture the outlines, but it;s the details of how and where you are supposed to connect it and how it wants you to wire it and what takes places when it is on and when it is off as in how the module works
There are lots of methods out there, and tons of different ways to do. Could you fill us in with more details on he unit, others may be interested as well especially those who are in high theft areas
I might check the brake pedal idea or the fuel pump but how long or far will the truck go if it were stolen and the fuel pump didn’t work??... either way I’ll take an item unboxing and it’s features and install video and or pictures and Upload them on here to share how it worked out and how i did it. The switch arrives on 12/8 so it may be a few days... I’ll keep it posted

While I think the fuel pump idea has some merit I dont exactly like the idea that they still get away with the truck and now idea how far they can go. Personally I would rather have it so they can't even get the truck started. My thought was to grab the wire that would go to the starter solenoid and be able interrupt the wire so that the thieves cant even get it started. One would think you could even run a wire down to the solenoid itself then back to the box location hidden somewhere hard for the thieves to find.
But this ought to be an interesting little project, I am sure some of the others will have some ideas as well.

It won't go anywhere at all with no fuel, and will never start. I've used a simple diversion of the fuel shut off switch (engineered to immediately cut off fuel in a severe accident). Trust me, when that circuit is disconnected, the engine stops immediately and it is impossible to restart until the circuit is restored.
It's not like the old school shutoff valve you may have cut into the fuel line on an old F100.
