Hey there! I am having some issues with my 2000 F150 V6. Unfortunatly, I live in a rural area and my local shop where i can take it wont touch it till it dies. I undertand its fuel injected and pushing the gas pedal does nothing to start it, but if i dont pump the gas when i go to start it it wont budge..any ideas? Thank you, and im sorry to ask
Pumping the gas pedal does .......not......... add fuel to the motor.
The motor is fuel injected with 6 separate eclectically operated injectors.
They are not linked to the throttle in any way.
What it can offer is to clear a FLOODED motor by turning off the injectors at about 7/8 to full throttle open as the system was designed to do..
I would avoid that shop for any future consideration because they apparently have no idea how it works and only cost you money just trying this and that.
Look for a flooded condition.
Are the spark plugs wet with fuel?
If yes, is the fuel regulator leaking or faulty as a first path to look into.
Second test for fuel pressure using a gauge on the test port. It may be excessive.
Getting deeper in troubleshooting should this be needed is to check cylinder head temperature sensor for proper operation and Intake air temperature sensor.
Are there any codes stored?
Trouble shooting is the first thIng that is done, not replacing partS trying to get lucky and empty your wallet.
